A parent staging a sit-in at the Natomas Unified School District office was arrested on trespassing charges on March 17, according to the Sacramento Police Department. Jessica Vroman, a Natomas parent, was staging a sit-in at the district office with her son, chronicling her day via videos on her Instagram. She said in a video that they were staging a sit-in until someone met with them about the ongoing teachers strike. District spokesperson Deidra Powell said that Vroman and her child unlawfully entered the district office, which has been closed since the beginning of the teachers strike. Powell said that she was asked to leave and described her actions as “concerning.” “This individual was not authorized to be on-site,” Powell wrote in a follow-up statement. “All visitors are expected to follow established security protocols and respect facility guidelines.
